International Office of the School of Economics

Overview - Internationalization of the School of Economics

International Students

Since 2017, our school welcomes international graduate students to study in our graduate program taught in English. We enrolled students from 16 different countries and are looking forward to extending this program.

International Conferences

In the recent 10 years, HenU`s school of economics hosted and organized several conferences and meetings gathering scholars from all over the world to meet and share their latest research results in Kaifeng. Among them are the HenU/INFER Workshop on Applied Macroeconomics (held annually from 2015-2019, currently suspended due to Covid-19) and the Symposium on Development and Institutional Economics (held in 2014, 2015 and 2017) the most prominent ones.

Student Exchange Program

We have close cooperations with universities in Australia, the US, Europe, Canada and Japan for student exchanges as well as research collaborations.

International Faculty Recruitment

We are excited to internationalize our faculty. In recent years, scholars from Germany, South Korea and Canada - with an excellent educational background - joined our full-time faculty. Several excellent scholars from world-leading institutions became associate faculty members and regular visitors of our school.

English Economics Classes for our domestic students

The school of economics offers for several years now economics classes to our undergraduate students that are exclusively taught in English. Many of the students in this program were able to continue their graduate studies at excellent universities in Europe or the US.
